Saurabh Shukla Discusses the Importance of Honesty in Love
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 23 (NationPress) Acclaimed actor and filmmaker Saurabh Shukla asserts that honesty is essential for any profound relationship, particularly in matters of love.
When discussing the concept of being a “Khuli Kitab” or “an open book” within a relationship, Saurabh noted that concealing the truth can lead to greater harm than the truth itself.
“You should never hide the truth. In my view, hiding brings significant issues because once the truth is revealed, it creates a sense of betrayal. I’ve witnessed this firsthand and it's something I understand deeply,” Saurabh, who recently starred in “Jab Khuli Kitaab,” mentioned in an interview with IANS.
He emphasizes that the heartache in these scenarios isn't solely about the actions taken, but rather the feeling of being left in ignorance.
“It’s not about the action itself; it’s about being kept in the dark. That’s what truly constitutes a larger betrayal,” he clarified.
“This situation raises doubts. It makes you feel that your partner lacked the trust to share with you, and that can hurt more,” he added.
Saurabh stressed that being open fortifies the foundation of a relationship, enabling partners to truly understand one another.
“Ideally, a relationship should allow for complete openness,” he stated.
Reflecting on love and honesty, he shared a line from poet Rumi: “Light always enters through the crack in the wall.”
“I came across a line by Rumi… it states, ‘Light always enters through the crack in the wall,’ and it resonated deeply with me.”
Regarding the narrative of his film, he explained: “In this story, the couple appeared to be living a flawless life. Their love was like a wall without cracks. However, one truth emerged, shattering that wall and creating openings. Yet, what followed was the illuminating light of truth, which brightened their surroundings.”
He further noted that when everything is transparent, there’s nothing left to conceal, allowing partners to fully comprehend one another, both their strengths and weaknesses.
“When the truth emerges, there’s nothing hidden anymore. You become aware of your partner's ups and downs. If, after knowing everything, you choose to stay together, it signifies the authenticity of that relationship. You accept it as it is, or was, or how it unfolded,” he said.
“Thus, there’s no more hiding, and that’s what they ultimately discover. Their love and romance then take on a renewed meaning.”
