Saurabh Shukla: Actors Would Sacrifice to Work with Shah Rukh Khan
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 9 (NationPress) Acclaimed National Award-winning actor Saurabh Shukla is set to star in the film “King”, and he firmly believes that partnering with Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan is an opportunity that most actors would jump at, even humorously suggesting they might “give their right arm” to work with him.
Previously, Saurabh mentioned that the upcoming film, which features both SRK and his daughter Suhana Khan, has a cast comprising 70 percent of Bollywood. When asked if he perceives this ensemble cast as the new trend in mainstream cinema, Saurabh responded decisively: “No, it’s not like that.”
He elaborated, stating, “Of course, an ensemble cast is a great thing to happen, where each character is treated with dignity. That’s why each character, each actor, becomes an integral part of it. And that’s how we call it an ensemble cast. Ensemble casts should be there in every film.”
Discussing the excitement surrounding King, Saurabh clarified his previous comment about the involvement of “70 percent of the industry”, emphasizing it as a reflection of the film's grand scale and the buzz it has generated.
“The point is, when this question was asked to me about King, I said 70 percent of the industry is there. What I mean by that is, one, King is a very big film,”
He clarified that his statement wasn't intended to imply that actors exclusively represent the film's extensive participation.
“And when I say 70 percent of the industry, it does not only mean actors. The industry is not made of actors alone. Actors may be 70 percent or 80 percent of the people involved; there’s no problem with that. But everybody wants to be a part of that big film.”
According to him, much of the enthusiasm around the project is driven by the chance to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan. “That’s what it is. It’s there, and everybody loves Shah Rukh. One call from his office, or if he calls personally, you will give your right arm to work with him,” said Saurabh, who has previously collaborated with SRK in Baadshah and Hey Ram.
However, the actor remained discreet about his role in King. When pressed on how many scenes he features in, Shukla stated audiences would need to watch the film to discover that.
“They will reveal only as much as they want to reveal about the film. I am nobody to…I can reveal as much as you want about Khuli Gitaab, but not about King.
