Los Angeles, April 26 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Selma Blair, who received a diagnosis of the autoimmune disorder multiple sclerosis in 2018, has disclosed that she is now "in remission" from the condition.

In an interview with people.com, the 52-year-old actress expressed: "I am doing amazingly well. I've been feeling great for about a year. But I am finally well enough to truly, genuinely ... I always strive to feel my best, but now that I genuinely have stamina and energy, going out isn't as frightening anymore."

Blair's health improvements have also enabled her to start contemplating her future, as reported by femalefirst.co.uk.

She remarked: "It's interesting, I haven't dedicated enough time to dreaming. Now it’s like, 'What are my dreams?'

"I believe that maybe since my diagnosis, I was constantly fatigued. For much of my life, I was exhausted from feeling unwell, which led me to simply strive to get through the day. Now, however, I realize I’m uncertain about what my aspirations are."

The actress expressed her desire to return to her acting roots, but her ambitions reach beyond just her career.

She stated: "I am still advocating for individuals with chronic illnesses and discussing what recovery looks like when you haven’t articulated your wishes."

Blair has reportedly been in remission since 2021, and she previously mentioned feeling "really great," despite the ongoing challenges associated with multiple sclerosis.

In a 2023 conversation with People, she stated: "Everything's fantastic. I am still in remission. There are things that will likely always accompany me, such as dystonia and other phenomena that vary in occurrence. However, neurology is a fascinating field, and it intrigues me."

Multiple sclerosis leads to involuntary muscle contractions, and Selma has acknowledged the significant impact it has had on her life.
