Mumbai, Aug 2 (NationPress) Actor Sharat Sonu, known for his role as SHO Pramod in “Mandala Murders,” expressed that he was captivated by the humor infused in his character, providing a sense of relief in an otherwise dark series.
In discussing his preparation for the role, Sharat mentioned that the primary challenge was maintaining a subtle sense of humor without crossing into exaggeration.
“Comedy can easily drift into being over-the-top. Participating in workshops and receiving guidance from Gopi Sir were instrumental in keeping it authentic. Although retakes might feel repetitive, the energy on set kept the atmosphere lively and engaging,” he explained.
On the challenge of emotionally navigating a dark thriller while embodying a lighter character, he stated: “Honestly, I didn’t feel the need to go ‘dark.’”
“As my character serves as the comic relief, I maintained a lighthearted approach. However, being surrounded by such intensity naturally draws you into that mood, which creates a palpable tension even while portraying the lighter aspects,” he added.
Sharat praised his collaboration with Vaani Kapoor.
“Vaani is incredibly warm and grounded; she never brings any ‘star energy’ to the set. Vaibhav Raj Gupta is the most supportive co-actor anyone could wish for. Both scenes are enjoyable, and the entire cast’s chemistry is evident in the series,” he said.
Reflecting on the audience's response and the show’s visual appeal, he remarked, “People are really enjoying it! I’ve received messages from friends and viewers about how refreshing my character feels amidst the surrounding darkness. Hearing that I made them laugh in such a tense thriller is the ultimate compliment.”
“The sets, lighting, and intricate details transported us directly into that world. Every frame appeared so genuine that there was no need to ‘act’ the atmosphere; it was inherently present. This visual mood made immersing into character effortless,” he concluded.
The series is helmed by Gopi Puthran and Manan Rawat and produced by YRF Entertainment.
