Los Angeles, April 28 (NationPress) Director Shawn Levy is juggling two major projects, and understandably, he must keep details under wraps. With both ‘Stranger Things’ season 5 and ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ on the way, the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ director has mastered the art of secrecy.
“‘Stranger Things’ taught me the importance of discretion,” Levy remarked during the recent Broadway premiere of ‘Stranger Things: The First Shadow’ in New York City.
Having been an executive producer since the first season and directing episodes in Seasons 3 and 4, Levy was excited when Sonia Friedman and Stephen Daldry reached out to him regarding ‘The First Shadow’, which is currently running on Broadway, as reported by ‘Variety’.
He shared with ‘Variety’, “I am immensely thankful for this experience because I managed to keep the Ryan Gosling news, along with the title and release date of my ‘Star Wars’ film, under wraps for quite some time. I take pride in that and owe my gratitude to ‘Stranger Things’ for teaching me to remain tight-lipped.”
Levy continued, “When collaborating with such top-tier talent in the theater scene, we knew we were in capable hands. It’s about trusting their instincts and talent. We were greatly rewarded as they managed to delve into the iconic narratives we created on the show, adding layers and access points not present in the series. It stands as a companion piece.”
After ‘Stranger Things’ concludes on Netflix later this year, ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ is set to premiere on May 28, 2027, featuring Ryan Gosling as the lead and Jonathan Tropper of ‘The Adam Project’ fame as the writer.
