Mumbai, Aug 17 (NationPress) Padma Bhushan laureate Shekhar Kapur, renowned for his explorations into the unseen realms of cinema, is reminiscing about the production of his iconic sci-fi film ‘Mr. India’.

On Sunday, the director posted a nostalgic image on his Instagram featuring the late actress Sridevi. This photograph captures a joyous moment from their very first day of filming together, showcasing the duo in a delightful dancing stance with their arms extended.

In a heartfelt caption, he praised her and highlighted some of her most admirable traits as an individual.

He expressed, “This was my inaugural shooting day with Sridevi. We were filming a song in Mahabaleshwar, and when she began to dance, the world seemed to freeze. The only thing that moved was Sridevi, captivating us all. We were so entranced that I even forgot to shout ‘Cut’. Like the rest of the crew, I was spellbound by her performance.”

He went on to elaborate, “There are aspects of Sridevi that often go unnoticed, such as her unwavering loyalty. Whenever challenges arose during filming, she would seize every opportunity to shield me and speak highly of my work. She took it upon herself to fiercely protect her director. Beneath her stardom and remarkable talent lay an innocence and vulnerability that she infused into her performances.”

“It was as if the camera was her sole confidant, the medium through which she revealed her true self. That’s what made her a true star; she was unafraid to display her innermost feelings on camera,” he added.
