Shoojit Sircar Contemplates Whether Bengalis Hold the Title for Most Talkative

Mumbai, Dec 27 (NationPress) Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar, celebrated for his films like Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe, October, and more, has expressed his opinion that his community, the Bengalis, might be the most talkative.
On Friday, the filmmaker took to his Instagram to share a reflective note on the topic of the most talkative community.
He stated, “While Indians are generally known for their love of conversation, it’s challenging to identify a single region as the most talkative. However, if I were to make a guess, I would say Bengalis might just take the cake! After all, ‘adda’ (friendly chats) is a significant part of Bengali culture! What do you think? Do you agree? #TalkativeIndians #BengaliAdda #IndianCulture”.
Previously, the filmmaker mentioned that, for him, the filmmaking process originates from within and is largely independent of market considerations.
The director expressed that the burden of expectation can stifle his creativity over time.
He told IANS, “No, that’s the last thing I hope for the audience to come. Because, first of all, I don’t even envision an audience when I create a film. I make films for myself primarily. I have to just view it at my edit table, I can observe my actors perform and then move on. The audience comes into play much later.”
He added, “When the promotion begins, then you start having expectations because there’s a bit of monetary aspect involved. I’m aware that there are various types of audiences, some will appreciate it, while others may not. Therefore, I’m not anticipating too much from them. I don’t focus on the opening day, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. It requires a considerable amount of time.”
Previously, the director appeared on the quiz-based reality show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ alongside actor Abhishek Bachchan.
