Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Jan 8 (NationPress) Actress Shweta Tripathi has successfully concluded filming her upcoming social drama 'Palkon Pe' in Bhopal. She emphasized that the film boldly addresses uncomfortable issues such as divorce, gender equality, sexuality, and mental health.
Reflecting on the filming experience, Shweta expressed to IANS, "The rigorous shooting schedule in Bhopal truly challenged us, yet it fostered a unique sense of camaraderie and authenticity that is evident in our work."
She further remarked, "The compelling nature of Palkon Pe drew me in. It doesn't shy away from addressing uncomfortable topics like divorce, gender equality, sexuality, and mental health, which are often discussed in whispers or oversimplified."
Directed by renowned ad filmmaker Niddhish Puuzhakkal, the film began production in December of the previous year and was shot in various locations around Bhopal, following a demanding schedule that challenged the cast and crew both creatively and physically.
“Niddhish possesses a distinctive perspective on human behavior; he brings a psychologist’s sensitivity to each frame, silence, and emotion. Such direction as an actor allows for deeper exploration, confronting discomfort, and being genuine," Shweta stated.
Palkon Pe features Shweta alongside Abhishek Chauhan and Eshan Naqvi. Niddhish creates a powerful social drama that delves into complex themes like gender equality and mental health, framed through a personal and human lens, focusing on the character Shraddha Agarwal, portrayed by Shweta Tripathi.
Collaborating with her co-stars Abhishek and Eshan was equally rewarding for Shweta.
“Everyone brought such honesty to the project, making even the most challenging days feel meaningful. Palkon Pe is a narrative that lingers with me long after the camera stops rolling, and I sincerely hope it resonates with viewers when it premieres," she added.
Produced by Rahul Gandhi’s Tamboo Entertainment and Saleem Javed’s Zaria Entertainment, Palkon Pe is designed as a thought-provoking social commentary aiming to ignite essential discussions while remaining grounded in emotional truth. The film is scheduled for release in 2026.
