Mumbai, March 11 (NationPress) Actor Sparsh Srivastava, whose streaming comedy series ‘Dupahiya’ is garnering significant positive attention, stated that comedy has tested every aspect of his acting abilities. He emphasized that the margin for error in comedy is extremely slim.

The storyline of the series unfolds in a village that is gearing up to celebrate 25 crime-free years. However, the plot takes an unforeseen twist with the theft of a prized motorbike, leading to a frantic pursuit to retrieve it before an imminent wedding, which could jeopardize the village’s hard-earned reputation. At the center of this turmoil is Sparsh Srivastava, whose genuine portrayal of Bhugol has stood out remarkably.

Discussing the difficulties of authentically delivering comedy, Sparsh remarked, "At the outset, I felt a wave of apprehension because comedy can easily be exaggerated. Once that occurs, your co-actor picks up on it, and the audience perceives it as mere acting. The true test lies in convincing them of the moment."

He added, "Comedy poses a challenge because the likelihood of missteps is considerable, and the margin for error is very narrow. I had to exercise extra caution, especially since my character Bhugol is quite flamboyant with his antics and responses. Fortunately, I was surrounded by the director and remarkable co-stars like Gajraj sir and Bhuvan bhai. Gradually, that fear dissipated as observing their performances taught me how far to take a scene and when to pull back."

The actor’s impeccable comic timing, natural charm on screen, and ability to merge humor with authenticity have captivated audiences.

Produced and Executive Produced by Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani under their banner, Bombay Film Cartel, ‘Dupahiya’ is directed by Sonam Nair and penned by Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg.

The nine-episode series features notable performances from Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi, and Yashpal Sharma in significant roles.

‘Dupahiya’ is available for streaming on Prime Video.
