Tahir: SRK’s Pivotal Roles in ‘Baazigar’ and ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’ Exemplify Mastery

Mumbai, Dec 9 (NationPress) Actor Tahir Raj Bhasin shares that his performance in “Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein” feels like a heartfelt tribute to the bold essence of Shah Rukh Khan, particularly in his unforgettable roles from classic films such as “Baazigar” and “Darr”.
“His journey has consistently inspired me and instilled courage, proving that no aspiration is too grand and no path is insurmountable. ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein’, marked by its intense drama, unapologetic sensationalism, and raw energy, serves as a homage to the fearless spirit that SRK embodied in roles like Baazigar and Darr,” Tahir remarked.
He emphasized that his depiction of the “brooding, conflicted anti-hero, who is flawed and often lost, has not only influenced me but also an entire generation of storytellers, impacting our perception of heroes in cinema.”
“In ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein’, my character pays tribute to the 90s hero – one who existed on the edge, where the distinction between good and evil was perpetually ambiguous. My inspiration for Vikrant is heavily drawn from SRK’s legendary anti-heroes, whose roles prompted us to question, empathize, and at times, root for the darker side,” he noted.
The actor further stated: “The character’s intricacy, struggle, passion, and defiance — all embody that unapologetic energy, the quintessence of the superstar I admire. Vikrant's journey in the series alludes to the same audacity, intensity, and ambiguity that SRK infused into his iconic performances.”
“Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein” is a romantic crime thriller series available on Netflix, created and directed by Sidharth Sengupta. The show features Shweta Tripathi and Anchal Singh in lead roles, alongside Saurabh Shukla, Surya Sharma, Arunoday Singh, and Brijendra Kala in supporting roles.
The upcoming season also welcomes actor Gurmeet Choudhary. Produced by Edgestorm Ventures Pvt Ltd, ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein’ season 2 premiered on November 22 on Netflix.
