Los Angeles, April 1 (NationPress) The upcoming fourth chapter in the Spider-Man saga featuring Tom Holland and Zendaya is officially named “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”

Director Destin Daniel Cretton revealed that filming for the fourquel will commence this summer during an announcement at CinemaCon, as reported by variety.com.

Though Holland was unable to attend the annual convention for movie theater owners in Las Vegas, he sent a video message to excite fans about the forthcoming superhero film.

“I apologize for not being there with you. I’m currently halfway across the globe filming another project,” Holland explained, referring to his upcoming role in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” alongside Matt Damon, Zendaya, and Anne Hathaway.

“I understand we left you with a huge cliffhanger at the end of ‘No Way Home,’ so ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is essentially a new beginning. That’s all I can disclose at this moment.”

“That’s the limit of what I’m allowed to share,” Holland continued.

“And I’ve passed the point of giving out spoilers, so don’t worry. I won’t spill anything today.”

As Holland hinted, the previous film, 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” concluded with Peter Parker making the tough choice to erase his identity from the world after accidentally tearing open the multiverse.

Details about the plot for the fourth film, set to debut in theaters on July 31, 2026, have yet to be disclosed.

“I’m dedicating my time to exploring the next chapter of this incredible character with an outstanding team of artists,” Cretton hinted.

“We’re all, every day, diving deep into the suit design, the swinging mechanics, crafting an emotional narrative, and creating an experience we haven’t really witnessed before.”

Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, who portray Peter Parker’s friends MJ and Ned, are anticipated to reprise their roles in this fourth installment.

Sadie Sink has recently joined the cast, and while her character remains undisclosed, there are speculations that she might take on the role of Jean Grey, a character previously portrayed by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner. It’s uncertain which other characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will appear alongside Holland.

Cretton did not confirm any casting details for “Brand New Day.” However, he did express enthusiasm for his creative team working to bring Spidey’s story back to the big screen, according to variety.com.

“I genuinely wish I could introduce you to our entire team who are pouring their hearts into this project,” Cretton mentioned.

“They are phenomenal, and you will witness their remarkable work when ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ arrives in theaters.”
