Key Takeaways
Mumbai, April 17 (NationPress) Television star Urvashi Dholakia, recognized for her candid nature, has expressed her deep concerns regarding the late-night construction activities in the Juhu area of Mumbai, referring to it as a “midnight nightmare” for local residents.
The actress took to social media to release an open letter, emphasizing the chaos caused by construction purportedly happening at a property owned by Asit Kumar Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
She also posted several videos documenting the late-night construction.
In her message, she stated, “THE NIGHTMARES OF JUHU CONSTRUCTION WORK. Subject: Open Letter Concerning Ongoing Late-Night Construction. I am writing this open letter to bring attention to the ongoing construction work in our vicinity, which has been causing considerable disturbance to the residents.”
She continued, “For numerous days, construction activities have persisted well past acceptable hours, often extending late into the night. The incessant noise from machinery, drilling, and the movement of materials has made it incredibly challenging for residents to get any rest, impacting sleep, health, and overall well-being. This property under construction is currently owned by Mr. Asit Modi @officialasitkummarmodi and his family.”
Furthermore, she mentioned, “As per local laws and civic regulations, construction activities are required to comply with specific timings, especially in residential areas. Regrettably, these regulations seem to be repeatedly ignored. This situation is not merely an inconvenience; it concerns basic living conditions. Families with children, elderly residents, and working individuals are all affected by this lack of respect and adherence.”
Urvashi urged authorities to investigate this issue. “I implore the relevant authorities and builders to take immediate measures to: • Strictly follow authorized construction hours • Reduce noise pollution during early mornings and late nights • Ensure that residents’ right to tranquility and rest is honored.”
She added, “If this situation continues, residents might feel compelled to escalate the issue through formal complaints to the appropriate municipal and environmental bodies. We anticipate swift action and a more responsible approach moving forward. Sincerely, A Concerned Resident @my_bmc @mumbaipolice @devendra_fadnavis @cpmumbaipolice @amc.bmc @ameet.satam.”
The actress also recounted her experience of waiting for police intervention.
“I should also mention that I called the police emergency number (100) at 4:23 AM and made three calls until 4:55 AM, hoping they would come to address this issue. I waited outside my building on the street until 5:08 AM, and no one showed up!!”
She added, “Just imagine if this were a different scenario, and I had been in danger; what would my situation have been? The system is so FLAWED it is unbelievable and appalling!” Urvashi raises concerns regarding the responsiveness of authorities.
