Chennai, Jan 15 (NationPress) The filming for director Vetrimaran’s highly anticipated action thriller ‘Vaadi Vaasal’, starring actor Suriya in the leading role, is set to commence shortly. Kalaipuli S Thanu, the film's producer, has officially revealed that the production of Vaadi Vaasal is now underway.
This announcement was made by Thanu on Maatu Pongal, a significant day dedicated to honoring bulls.
Thanu shared a photo with director Vetrimaran and Suriya, captioning it in Tamil, “Agilam Aarathika Vaadi Vaasal Thirakirathu” (With the world cheering, Vaadi Vaasal opens). The term Vaadi Vaasal refers to a narrow passage resembling a gateway, through which bulls enter the arena for the renowned sport of Jallikattu. Notably, Jallikattu is celebrated on Maatu Pongal as part of the Pongal festivities.
The film has sparked immense excitement among fans for two main reasons. Firstly, it marks the collaboration of Vetrimaran and Suriya.
The second reason for the film's high anticipation is that it is adapted from the novel 'Vaadivaasal', penned by the esteemed Tamil author Ci. Su. Chellappa. 'Vaadivaasal' narrates a tale centered around the bull-taming sport of Jallikattu.
G V Prakash, the music director for the film, revealed in 2022 that he had completed the music for two to three songs for Vetrimaran's 'Vaadivaasal'.
Prakash shared this insight during a Twitter chat with fans. He noted that his collaborations with Vetrimaran have been particularly successful, stating, "We are currently engaged with 'Vaadivaasal'. We have already composed two to three tracks. The music will feature an intense version of traditional folk sounds. The album for 'Vaadivaasal' will present a rustic and authentic score."
Industry rumors suggest that the film may be developed as a three-part series. However, there has been no official confirmation from the production team about this.
