Varun Dhawan: Took on the Majority of Stunts with Minimal Body Double Assistance

Mumbai, Dec 21 (NationPress) Actor Varun Dhawan is preparing for the upcoming release of “Baby John” and revealed that he has taken on nearly all the stunts himself, utilizing a body double only sparingly.
“The action in this film is on a grand scale, and I’ve personally tackled almost all the stunts, with minimal reliance on a body double. Collaborating with Kalees was an exhilarating challenge—he motivated me to push my physical boundaries every single day,” Varun commented.
He mentioned that one of the most strenuous scenes required him to hang upside down for more than six hours, which tested his endurance like never before.
The actor continued: “I recall Atlee stepping in at one moment to remind us about the importance of safety, ensuring that our drive for excellence didn't lead to unnecessary risks. It’s been a demanding yet rewarding journey.”
Directed by Kalees, the team behind “Baby John” enlisted eight international action directors to choreograph its thrilling sequences.
The eight action directors—Anl Arasu, Stunt Silva, Anbariv, Yannick Ben, Sunil Rodrigues, Kaloyan Vodenicharov, Manohar Verma, and Bronwin October—have expertly crafted eight significant action scenes for the film.
Discussing the inclusion of eight action directors, Kalees stated: “We were lucky to bring together a group of eight esteemed action directors, each contributing their unique skills to create exciting and varied fight sequences. It was a true honor to work with the best of the best in the action genre, both from India and internationally, leading to an outstanding cinematic experience.”
“Baby John” features Varun Dhawan, national award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav. It is produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, and Jyoti Deshpande.
Presented by Jio Studios in partnership with Atlee and Cine1 Studios, Baby John is a production of A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios. Directed by Kalees, the film is set to premiere in theaters on 25 December 2024.
