Chennai, Oct 21 (NationPress) Actor Vishal has officially announced his role as the director of his upcoming film, 'Magudam', emphasizing that his decision to helm this project stems from a sense of responsibility rather than obligation.
The lead actor revealed the second look poster of the film during the festive celebration of Deepavali. Accompanying this, he shared a heartfelt statement on his social media accounts.
In his message, Vishal expressed, "I am excited to unveil the 2nd look of my film Magudam/Makutam and to finally share my long-held commitment made during the early days of production—this film will mark my directorial debut."
He continued, "While I never anticipated this situation, the circumstances necessitated a pivotal decision to steer the creative direction of the film. This choice was made out of responsibility, not compulsion."
Vishal elaborated, "As an actor, I believe cinema represents a commitment to our audience who place their trust in us, as well as to the producers who invest their hard-earned money into every project. Taking the director’s seat for Magudam/Makutam is the best way to ensure that this film is successful, that the producer's efforts are protected, and that the audience receives the exceptional experience they deserve in commercial cinema. Sometimes, making the right choice involves taking charge and adjusting to see the greater picture in a progressive and successful manner. This is precisely what this Diwali/Deepawali signifies for me."
Vishal stated, "It’s time to make this official—no more secrets. A new dawn. A new chapter. Happy Diwali/Deepawali once again!"
It’s worth noting that IANS reported last week that industry insiders confirmed Vishal’s new role as the director of 'Magudam'.
For context, the well-known director Ravi Arasu was originally at the helm of this film, which is nearing its final shooting stages.
Sources indicated that Vishal stepped in as director after creative differences arose between him and Ravi Arasu. Social media was abuzz with clips showing Vishal directing the crew on set.
Actress Dushara Vijayan, one of the film's leading ladies, has completed her scenes.
The team, having wrapped its third schedule in Ooty, commenced its final leg in Chennai's TR Gardens a few days ago.
Vishal stars alongside Dushara and Anjali in this film, which is his 35th project and kicked off shooting on August 1 this year in Chennai. The film is produced by veteran filmmaker R B Choudhary under his well-regarded production house, Super Good Films, officially launched with a grand pooja ceremony in July.
This project marks the 99th film for Super Good Films, renowned for delivering numerous blockbusters and nurturing talented filmmakers in the Tamil film industry.
The film features an outstanding technical crew, including acclaimed cinematographer Richard M. Nathan, who reunites with Vishal after their successful collaboration on the hit film 'Madha Gaja Raja'. It also brings back the dynamic duo of Vishal and G.V. Prakash Kumar, with G.V. Prakash composing the music. NB Srikanth is responsible for editing, while Durairaj oversees art direction, and costume design is led by Vasuki Bhaskar.
