Mumbai, April 8 (NationPress) Actress Yamini Malhotra, recognized for her stint in ‘Bigg Boss 18’, is poised to make her debut in Bollywood with the film “Chill Marna Bro.”
The talented actress and model expressed her thrill at entering the realm of Hindi cinema, deeming it a dream come true. As she reflected on this exciting new phase, Yamini conveyed her appreciation and eagerness for this momentous opportunity, referring to it as a significant milestone in her professional journey. Discussing her debut project, the ‘Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin’ star stated, “I have always been passionate about acting, and stepping into Bollywood is a dream come true. The film boasts a captivating storyline filled with comedy and surprises, and I am eager for audiences to witness me in this fresh role.”
“Chill Marna Bro” is set to be directed by Tejas Dattani.
Earlier this January, Yamini attracted attention when she shared her experiences regarding the difficulties of house hunting in Mumbai. In an Instagram post, she disclosed that many landlords would 'flatly refuse' to rent to her upon discovering her profession.
She wrote, “Hello everyone, I want to share something that’s been quite disheartening. Despite my love for Mumbai, the search for a home here has been challenging (sic). I have faced inquiries such as, ‘Are you Hindu or Muslim?’ ‘Gujarati or Marwadi?’ And as soon as people hear that I am an actor, they outright refuse. Does being an actor make me less worthy of a home? It’s astonishing that such questions still persist in 2025. Can we genuinely refer to this as the city of dreams if those dreams come with stipulations (sic)?”
Professionally, Yamini Malhotra gained fame for her role in Star Plus’ renowned series “Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin.” She portrayed Shivani Chavan in the family drama but departed from the show after a year, with her character later being taken over by Tanvi Thakkar.
She was also recently featured in the Salman Khan-hosted reality show “Bigg Boss 18,” where she entered the house as the fourth wildcard contestant following Kashish Kapoor, Digvijay Singh Rathee, and Edin Rose.
Additionally, Yamini has starred in the series “Main Teri Tu Mera,” as well as the Telugu film “Chuttalabbai.”
