New Delhi, April 19 (NationPress) The idea of a Viksit Bharat (developed India) cannot be achieved without wellness, emphasizing the necessity for every citizen's health, stated Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday.

HM Shah further highlighted that all citizens should focus on a nutritious diet, sufficient hydration, proper sleep, and regular physical activity, adding, “the rest will be managed by the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure your health.”

During a program hosted by the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) marking World Liver Day, HM Shah urged everyone to pledge toward maintaining a healthy liver through awareness, diligence, and comprehensive knowledge.

Sharing insights from his own healthy lifestyle, the Home Minister mentioned significant changes in his life since May 2020. He noted that young individuals can accomplish much by adhering to the principles of hydration, diet, exercise, and sleep as per their body’s needs.

The Union Home Minister remarked that the Ministry of AYUSH is developing a system to prevent illness.

“Currently, even major allopathic hospitals are establishing AYUSH wings. The concept of mental and physical well-being is integral to the essence of World Yoga Day,” he pointed out.

Under the leadership of PM Modi, the government covers the entire medical expenses, up to Rs 5 lakh, for millions of citizens across the nation, including all costs for those over 70 years of age.

The Modi government has invested Rs 65,000 crore to enhance health infrastructure, ensuring that every Primary Health Center (PHC) and Community Health Center (CHC) operates as a complete unit.

In terms of generic medications, a network of over 15,000 Jan Aushadhi Centres has been established nationwide, providing medicines at discounts of up to 80 percent.

Through Mission Indradhanush, free vaccinations are available for children from birth up to 15 years, along with vaccinations for 1 crore 32 lakh mothers.

Utilizing the e-Sanjeevani app, more than 30.9 crore digital health consultations from top institutions have been facilitated in rural areas throughout the country.

In 2014, the country had seven AIIMS, which have now increased to 23. The number of medical colleges has grown from 387 to 780. The availability of MBBS seats has risen from 51,000 to 1.18 lakh, with an additional 75,000 seats expected to be added, according to HM Shah.
