Gandhinagar, March 11 (NationPress) The Health Minister of Gujarat, Rushikesh Patel, announced in the Assembly on Tuesday that requisition forms have been dispatched to the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) for the recruitment of 1,146 Class-1 doctors across various categories in state health institutions.

Out of these, 947 posts are designated for appointments at Community Health Centres (CHCs).

While discussing the recruitment of Class-I doctors for Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and CHCs, the Minister noted that 127 appointments have been made over the past two years through daily walk-in interviews conducted by the Commissioner’s Office.

These doctors earn a fixed monthly salary of Rs 1,30,000.

Additionally, a PG Bond Duty is assigned for one year, with a current list of 420 specialists having their appointment process in progress.

Specialist doctors under the College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPS) scheme are also subject to a one-year bond duty.

Approximately 100 new CPS candidates are expected to be available shortly, with bonded CPS doctors receiving a monthly stipend of Rs 75,000.

Furthermore, doctors are assigned to rural health institutions via the C.M. Setu programme.

Regarding the recruitment of Class-2 doctors for PHCs and CHCs, Minister Patel informed that a total of 1,921 posts have been announced for direct recruitment through GPSC.

These doctors are anticipated to be available by 2025.

Among the 3,136 MBBS graduates in 2024, 3,039 have received bonded appointments.

The Minister also mentioned that preparations for requisition forms for 865 Class-3 paramedical cadre posts at CHCs are underway, which will be sent to the Secondary Service Selection Board.

Examinations for 1,902 nursing cadre posts have been conducted by Gujarat Technological University, with results expected to be announced soon.

For Class-3 positions at PHCs, which fall under the jurisdiction of the Panchayat Department, the Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board is taking the necessary steps to fulfill these through competitive examinations.

Recruitment for Class-3 driver posts and Class-4 positions is being conducted via outsourcing, the Minister added.
