Beijing, Feb 27 (NationPress) Forty Chinese nationals implicated in illegal immigration were repatriated from Thailand on Thursday as part of a synchronized initiative aimed at tackling cross-border crime and protecting the lawful rights of Chinese citizens, as stated by China's Ministry of Public Security (MPS).

The operation, executed in line with both Chinese and Thai legal frameworks, international norms, and established protocols, exemplifies the ongoing collaboration between the two countries to counter transnational criminal activities, the ministry reported.

A senior official from the MPS noted that the repatriated individuals had fallen victim to criminal networks that lured them into illegally crossing borders, leaving them stranded in Thailand, according to Xinhua news agency.

"Their families have persistently sought governmental help for their return," the official remarked, emphasizing that the repatriation underscores China's dedication to safeguarding its citizens' lawful rights.

The official also highlighted that the legal rights of the repatriated individuals were thoroughly protected during the process, and they would receive support in reintegrating into their families and communities once the necessary legal steps were finalized.

"Recent collaborative efforts between China and Thailand have resulted in significant successes in addressing transnational crimes, such as telecommunications and internet fraud," the official stated.

Both nations have committed to enhancing their law enforcement collaboration, aiming to better protect citizens' lawful rights and maintain regional security and stability, as per the official's comments.

Additionally, on the same day, the National Immigration Administration released a statement affirming that the Chinese government firmly opposes illegal immigration in any form.

China's public security and immigration authorities will persist in their crackdown on cross-border crime and hold accountable those who facilitate or organize illegal immigration activities, the administration asserted.

It also pledged to bolster law enforcement cooperation with relevant authorities in other countries, ensuring a safe and orderly cross-border passage for both Chinese and foreign nationals while upholding their lawful rights and interests.
