Afghan Security Forces Eliminate Drug Labs in Ghor Province

Kabul, Dec 1 (NationPress) Afghan security forces have successfully dismantled 12 clandestine drug processing facilities and incinerated 46,000 kg of illegal drugs in the Ghor province of western Afghanistan, as reported in a statement by the office of the Deputy Minister of Interior for Counter-Narcotics.
The counter-narcotics police initiated targeted operations on the outskirts of Firoz Koah city, the provincial capital, leading to the destruction of 11 drug processing facilities and the discovery and incineration of 46,000 kg of illegal drugs, the statement indicated, as per the report from Xinhua news agency.
No details were provided regarding any arrests related to this operation; however, the statement noted that the substances were utilized in the production of heroin.
It is estimated that there are over 3 million drug users in Afghanistan. The current Afghan caretaker government has committed to intensifying efforts to eradicate poppy cultivation, its processing, and drug trafficking until the war-affected nation is liberated from this crisis.
