Alaska Airlines Unveils Ambitious International Flight Strategy

San Francisco, Dec 11 (NationPress) Alaska Airlines has unveiled a comprehensive strategic initiative aimed at establishing at least 12 nonstop international destinations utilizing long-haul widebody aircraft from Seattle by the year 2030.
Referring to Seattle as a new global gateway, Alaska is set to initiate nonstop services from Seattle to Tokyo in May and to Seoul in October, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
Ben Minicucci, CEO of Alaska Airlines, expressed in a statement, “There has never been a more exciting time to be a part of Alaska Air Group.” He added, “With our merger with Hawaiian Airlines, we will revolutionize our operations and strengthen our competitive edge for years to come.”
The Alaska Air Group, headquartered in SeaTac, encompasses several subsidiaries including Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, McGee Air Services, and the recently integrated Hawaiian Airlines.
Tokyo and Seoul were prioritized because Hawaiian Airlines was already servicing those routes. Although Alaska currently operates Boeing 737 MAXs to Mexico and Central America, Hawaiian Airlines utilizes long-haul widebody jets to connect destinations across the Pacific, including Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
In addition, Alaska has revised its 2027 financial projections to target $1 billion in profits and earnings per share of at least $10. The airline anticipates earnings per share of $5.75 for the full year of 2025.
For the third quarter of this year, from July to September, Alaska reported a revenue of $3 billion and a profit of $236 million, translating to $1.84 per share.
The commercial sector of the airline is expected to account for the majority of the anticipated profit growth, with projections indicating an increase of $800 million in revenue over the next three years.
