Washington, April 13 (NationPress) In the aftermath of extensive discussions between the United States and Iran that yielded no agreement, Tara Chand, the President of the Baloch American Congress, expressed serious doubts regarding the selection of Pakistan as the meeting venue. He labeled the country as "troubled and dishonest" and challenged its ability to host such sensitive peace negotiations.

Chand emphasized that Pakistan does not possess the credibility or international stature necessary to effectively mediate these discussions.

In a post on social media platform X on Monday, he remarked, "Holding peace talks between the United States and Iran in a troubled and dishonest nation like Pakistan raises major concerns about their chances of success. Pakistan lacks the global influence to facilitate such negotiations effectively.

“Both the United States and Iran may have made a significant error in choosing this venue. If true progress is the goal, substantial and credible dialogue should take place in a more neutral and esteemed setting,” he added.

Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance stated on Sunday that the discussions in Islamabad did not lead to an agreement after over 20 hours of negotiation, cautioning that Tehran’s refusal to agree to Washington’s terms is "bad news for Iran much more than it is for the United States of America."

Additionally, Baloch human rights advocate Mir Yar Baloch condemned Islamabad’s mediation role between the US and Iran, branding Pakistan as an "enemy of peace."

Questioning Pakistan’s sincerity, Mir shared on X: "Do you genuinely believe that Pakistan is committed to peace and that it is mediating between Iran and the United States? What qualifications does Pakistan have for mediation? Its history includes the genocide of three million Bengalis, the deaths of fifteen thousand Palestinians in Jordan, the killing of five hundred thousand Afghans in Afghanistan, bombing a Kabul rehabilitation hospital during Ramadan, which resulted in the deaths of four hundred innocents, and the violent oppression of two hundred thousand Baloch in Balochistan."

"Pakistan is an enemy of peace; it stands against America, Russia, Afghanistan, Balochistan, Israel, India, and is not a friend to Arab nations either,” he asserted.

Mir claimed that Pakistan is struggling with severe economic, military, and political difficulties, compounded by ongoing resistance in Balochistan. He posited that the country's attempts at mediation are a strategy to divert international attention from these pressing internal issues.

“Pakistan's economic, military, and political landscape is in a dire state; it faces significant resistance from the Baloch people in the Republic of United Balochistan, and the Pakistani army has faced substantial defeats. To distract the world from its failures, Islamabad is fabricating the narrative of mediation to mislead the global community once again,” the Baloch activist pointed out.
