The first recorded COVID-19 death in the country occurred on June 5, involving a man who succumbed to the virus in the capital, Dhaka.
Additionally, seven new COVID-19 cases were confirmed, with the daily test positivity rate increasing to 3.87 percent in the 24-hour period up to 8:00 a.m. local time Saturday.
According to official statistics, 174 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
In response to a resurgence of COVID-19 cases in several neighboring nations, the Bangladeshi interim government has advised citizens to avoid travel to these areas unless absolutely necessary, as reported by Xinhua News Agency.
