Sydney, April 21 (NationPress) A young boy tragically lost his life after becoming trapped between rocks, marking the seventh fatality at Australian beaches in just three days.

The nine-year-old was caught in the water at a beach on the mid-north coast of New South Wales (NSW), situated nearly 400 km northeast of Sydney, around 3:30 p.m. local time on Sunday.

Swift action was taken by emergency services, including local police, surf lifesavers, and fire rescue teams, who attempted to free the boy, but he sadly passed away at the scene.

This incident represents the seventh death reported at Australian beaches during the first three days of the four-day Easter long weekend. Six fatalities occurred in NSW, while one was recorded in the southeastern state of Victoria.
