Bulgaria Disrupts Human Trafficking Network

Sofia, Dec 6 (NationPress) Bulgarian law enforcement has successfully dismantled an organized crime syndicate that was involved in the smuggling of illegal migrants from Asia and North Africa to Western Europe, leading to the detention of five suspects.
The operation unfolded on Tuesday in Sofia, culminating in the arrest of three Syrian nationals.
Two more individuals, also from Syria, were later identified and taken into custody, according to reports from Xinhua news agency.
During this operation, authorities seized mobile phones, SIM cards, vehicle documents, and comprehensive records pertaining to the operations and financial dealings of the illegal migrant organization. Witnesses, comprising both Bulgarian and foreign nationals, were also interrogated.
Initial investigations indicated that the group coordinated transportation via trucks and vans to relocate migrants from the Black Sea city of Burgas, which is situated 75 km north of the Turkish border, to Sofia.
Furthermore, the group arranged accommodation for the migrants in Sofia and facilitated their subsequent trafficking into Western Europe, as stated by the ministry.
