Jerusalem, December 15 (NationPress) The Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery commenced sales of a new vehicle model in Israel on Sunday, as confirmed by its official Israeli dealer, Freesbe.

The latest addition, Arrizo 8, is a plug-in hybrid mid-sized sedan featuring a 1.5-liter turbo engine. It boasts an impressive acceleration capability, reaching from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds and achieving a maximum speed of 185 km/h, with a pure electric driving range exceeding 100 km, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.

Chery made its entry into the Israeli market in November 2022 and has since introduced a range of gasoline-powered crossover models including the Tiggo 7 Pro, Tiggo 8 Pro, and FX, which is also referred to as the Omada 5.

Earlier this year, in January, the company launched its inaugural full-electric model in Israel, the compact crossover SUV FX EV, which is the electric variant of the FX.

As per the data from the Israel Vehicle Importers Association, Chery has secured the seventh position in Israel's automobile sales rankings for the first 11 months of 2024, with total sales reaching 12,214 units.

Between January and November, the manufacturer placed fourth in the electric vehicle sales rankings within Israel, having sold 4,410 units, trailing behind BYD Auto from China, Tesla from the U.S., and MG Motor from China.
