Fire Claims Two Lives at Tokyo Lawmaker's Home

Tokyo, Nov 28 (NationPress) A devastating fire ignited on Wednesday in an apartment complex in Tokyo where a Japanese lawmaker resides with her family, leading to the discovery of two unidentified bodies at the location, stated local authorities.
The alarm was raised after 7 p.m. local time on Wednesday, reporting that a fire had erupted within a unit of a six-story apartment structure in the Bunkyo Ward of the capital. This building is home to Kuniko Inoguchi, a member of the upper house and part of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, along with three family members, according to a firefighter.
Following the incident, contact was made with Inoguchi, aged 72, who is a member of the House of Councillors, and one of her daughters. However, her husband and another daughter are still unaccounted for, as reported by the Xinhua news agency, citing the metropolitan police.
The fire was brought under control before 1 a.m. local time on Thursday, after over 30 fire trucks and various emergency units were dispatched to the area.
Inoguchi has been in public service since being first elected to the House of Representatives in 2005 after her tenure as a professor at Sophia University. She has been serving in the House of Councillors since 2010 and is currently in her third term.
