Five Individuals Injured in Israeli Airstrike on Southern Lebanese Village

Beirut, Dec 6 (NationPress) An Israeli airstrike struck a border village in southern Lebanon, resulting in injuries to five individuals, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

The Lebanese news outlet Elnashra reported on Thursday evening that the Israeli military dropped explosives on multiple residences in the village of Aitaroun, leading to structural damage.

In a related development, Israeli military vehicles advanced toward the center of the southern town of Ain Arab and subsequently positioned themselves on the road that leads to the Wata Khiam area, as per Elnashra's report.

Furthermore, the report indicated that Israeli forces bulldozed the road extending from the Tal Nahas area, situated outside the village of Kafr Kila, towards the border village of Wazzani, as well as the so-called 'airport road' that connects other regions between Kafr Kila and Wazzani, according to the Xinhua news agency.

Additionally, Lebanon's National News Agency noted that an Israeli drone was spotted flying at a low altitude over Beirut and its southern suburbs.

A ceasefire, facilitated by the US and France, took effect on November 27, aimed at concluding nearly 14 months of conflict between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.

As part of the agreement, both parties consented to a 60-day halt in hostilities, with Israel methodically withdrawing its troops from southern Lebanon and Hezbollah retreating northward of the Litani River.

Despite the ceasefire, tensions continue to run high, as both sides accuse each other of violating the terms, leading to concerns about the sustainability of the agreement.
