Houthis from Yemen Announce Another 'Hypersonic Ballistic Missile' Strike on Israel

Sanaa, Dec 25 (NationPress) The Houthi faction from Yemen declared on Wednesday morning that it had executed a long-range ballistic missile strike targeting Tel Aviv.

Yahya Sarea, a military spokesperson for the Houthis, stated, "Our missile forces targeted a military site in Tel Aviv using a hypersonic ballistic missile." This announcement was made during a broadcast on Houthi-operated al-Masirah TV.

He further emphasized, "Our military actions against Israel will persist until the aggression on Gaza ceases and the blockade is lifted."

Earlier on the same day, the Israeli military reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted a missile that originated from Yemen.

The Israeli military noted, "The projectile was intercepted prior to entering Israeli territory."

Sirens were activated across central Israel due to the risk of falling debris from the interception, as stated by the military.

The emergency service in Israel, Magen David Adom, reported treating a minimum of nine individuals injured while rushing to safety.

For the fifth consecutive time this week, millions of Israelis were directed to seek shelter as Houthi militants from Yemen initiated a missile attack, according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces on X.

Since the previous October, Houthi forces have sporadically launched missile and drone strikes against Israel, claiming to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza.

In response, Israel has conducted several significant airstrikes, with the latest taking place last Thursday.

On Tuesday, the Houthi group asserted they had launched a hypersonic ballistic missile at Tel Aviv in the early hours, an attack that Israel claims to have successfully intercepted.

Houthi military spokesperson Sarea, in a statement aired by al-Masirah TV, declared, "In support of the Palestinian people in Gaza, we targeted a military installation in Tel Aviv with a hypersonic ballistic missile."

He pledged that his group would continue launching attacks against Israel and asserted that the US-led airstrikes on Houthi positions in Yemen would not deter them.

"We are fully equipped and ready to confront the Israeli-American-British aggression against Yemen," he stated.

The IDF confirmed on Tuesday that it had intercepted a missile fired by the Houthis.

The missile, directed at Tel Aviv, activated air raid sirens throughout central and southern Israel, compelling millions of residents to seek shelter just before 2 a.m. local time (0000 GMT).
