Muscat, Dec 18 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian diaspora in Muscat on Thursday, pointing out that India has experienced significant transformative changes over the past 11 years in various sectors, including infrastructure development, manufacturing, healthcare, green growth, and women's empowerment.
During his speech to a large assembly of the Indian community, PM Modi noted that the strength of the nation’s economy is evident from the impressive 8 percent GDP growth recorded in the last quarter.
He emphasized that India is gearing up for the 21st century by fostering world-class innovation, startups, and establishing a robust Digital Public Infrastructure. The Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which accounts for approximately 50 percent of global digital payments, is a testament to this development.
The Prime Minister also celebrated India's remarkable advancements in the space sector, from lunar landings to the upcoming Gaganyaan human space flight, and invited youth to engage in ISRO’s YUVIKA program. He asserted that India serves not just as a market but as a model for the world, encompassing goods, services, and digital solutions.
He reiterated that the India-Oman collaboration is evolving to be future-ready through partnerships in AI, digital education, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
