Abu Dhabi, May 23 (NationPress) A significant all-party delegation from India, spearheaded by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde, paid respects at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, BAPS Hindu Temple, and Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara in Abu Dhabi on Friday. They delivered a compelling message of harmony, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence—values that are held dear by both India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The delegation commenced their day with a meeting alongside Nikolay Mladenov, the Director General of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy of the UAE, where they discussed enhancing collaboration between India and the UAE in combating terrorism and radicalization as part of the global outreach initiative known as Operation Sindoor.
“The all-party delegation led by Shrikant Eknath Shinde engaged with Nikolay Mladenov to exchange insights on strengthening cooperation between India and the UAE in counter-terrorism efforts,” the Indian Embassy in the UAE shared on X.
Earlier this week, the delegation engaged with members of the Indian community in Abu Dhabi, emphasizing India’s national consensus and collective determination against terrorism.
They also discussed the media's role in combating terrorism and extremism with Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Director General of the National Media Office of the UAE.
The UAE has reaffirmed its commitment to join forces with India in addressing terrorism, highlighting that their robust bilateral relationship extends beyond mere trade and culture to encompass security and strategic matters.
Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Tolerance and Co-Existence, along with Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council, expressed unwavering support for India during the delegation's visit.
The delegation underscored the issue of cross-border terrorism and the social discord instigated in India by Pakistan. Sheikh Nahyan expressed his heartfelt condolences regarding the tragic Pahalgam terrorist attacks on April 22, stating, "India and the UAE will confront terrorism together. The UAE will invariably stand by India."
Furthermore, the delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, emphasizing the measured and non-escalatory approach of Operation Sindoor in response to the brutal terrorist attacks on tourists in Kashmir on April 22.
As per the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, during the discussions, Nuaimi reinforced that the India-UAE relationship transcends trade and cultural ties, encompassing critical security and strategic issues. He stated, “Terrorism poses a threat to all of humanity, and the international community must take immediate action.”
The delegation, led by Shinde, included BJP MPs Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, Manan Kumar Mishra, Sasmit Patra from BJD, E.T. Mohammed Basheer from IUML, BJP leader S.S. Ahluwalia, and former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy.
This visit marks the initiation of India's unprecedented diplomatic mission aimed at exposing Pakistan's persistent involvement in cross-border terrorism, particularly in light of the dreadful Pahalgam attack on April 22.
