Jakarta, May 28 (NationPress) The delegation led by Sanjay Jha, a member of the Janata Dal (United), landed in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, on Wednesday following their successful mission in Singapore, where they articulated India's firm position against terrorism.
The All-Party Parliamentary Delegation, led by Sanjay Kumar Jha, touched down in Jakarta as part of India's diplomatic initiative known as Operation Sindoor. India is dedicated to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Through this diplomatic engagement, India aims to garner understanding and support from its long-standing friend and Comprehensive Strategic partner, as highlighted by the Indian Embassy in Jakarta on X.
While in Jakarta, the delegation plans to interact with various Indonesian officials, legislators, political party leaders, the ASEAN Secretary General, resident ambassadors, think tanks, academic institutions, media representatives, and a cross-section of the Indian community residing in Indonesia.
Joining Jha are BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Hemang Joshi, and Pradan Baruah, along with Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, CPI(M) Rajya Sabha member John Barittas, senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid, and former Indian Ambassador to France Mohan Kumar.
After their successful engagements in Singapore, South Korea, and Japan, the delegates will emphasize the importance of Operation Sindoor and India's ongoing battle against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism to the Indonesian leaders.
On Tuesday, the Indian parliamentarians met with Singaporean Ministers Edwin Tong, Sim Ann, and Janil Puthucheary, reaffirming India's steadfast commitment to tackle terrorism in all its forms.
The delegation also held discussions with Singaporean Members of Parliament, prominent business figures, community leaders, think tank representatives, academia, media, and the Indian diaspora.
During these interactions, the delegation articulated India's position regarding recent events following the terror attack in Pahalgam, Operation Sindoor, and the evolving strategy against terrorism, according to a statement from the Indian High Commission in Singapore.
"They detailed the new standards in India's fight against terrorism; India will respond decisively to any terrorist attack, will not tolerate nuclear blackmail, and will not distinguish between governments that sponsor terrorism and the masterminds behind it. The delegation requested ongoing support from Singapore in the battle against terrorism," the statement concluded.
