Tehran, May 10 (NationPress) Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has verified that the forthcoming session of indirect discussions with the United States is set to occur in Oman this Sunday. The Omani authorities are anticipated to reveal the exact timing for the commencement of these negotiations.

In an interview with Shahrara newspaper during his visit to the northeastern city of Mashhad on Friday, he addressed the Omani-mediated discussions concerning Tehran's nuclear agenda and the lifting of sanctions imposed by Washington.

Araghchi stated, "Our Omani friends consulted us regarding the scheduling of the next meeting for Sunday, to which we agreed. It appears they have communicated with the other party, and as of now, the discussions are planned for Sunday."

The minister emphasized that while Iran maintains firm and principled positions, the US has been sending mixed signals, asserting that Iran will uphold its "clear" stance, as reported by Xinhua.

Additionally, Araghchi mentioned his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Saturday, where he will engage in dialogue about regional matters and the indirect Iran-US negotiations in Riyadh, as well as participate in the Iran-Arab World Dialogue summit in Doha.

So far, delegations from Iran and the US have conducted three rounds of indirect talks, with the initial and third taking place in Muscat on April 12 and April 26, and the second in Rome on April 19.

A planned fourth round was postponed from May 3 in Rome due to what Oman referred to as "logistical reasons."
