Iran Rebukes US-Led Airstrikes on Yemen and Fatal Assault in Pakistan

Washington, Jan 6 (NationPress) Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei vehemently denounced the airstrikes conducted by the US-led navy coalition in northern Yemen, alongside a deadly assault in southwestern Pakistan.
Baghaei stated that the ongoing military aggression by the United States, Britain, and Israel against Yemen represents a blatant violation of Yemen's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, contradicting the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter. This statement was released on Sunday.
He remarked, “Such aggressive actions will contribute to heightened insecurity and instability throughout the West Asia region.”
The US-led navy coalition reportedly executed three airstrikes on Yemen's northern province of Saada on Sunday morning, as reported by Xinhua news agency, citing the Houthi-operated al-Masirah TV.
These strikes reportedly targeted a military site belonging to the Houthi group in the city, according to local residents on social media.
As of now, the US military has not provided comments regarding these claims.
The Houthi group, which governs a significant portion of northern Yemen, has been carrying out regular rocket and drone attacks against Israel and has disrupted shipping linked to Israel in the Red Sea since November 2023, supporting Palestinian causes.
In retaliation, the US-British navy coalition stationed in the region has routinely conducted air raids and strikes aimed at Houthi targets to deter their actions.
In a separate declaration, Baghaei extended his condolences to the families of the victims, as well as the government and people of Pakistan, in response to the recent lethal attack in Balochistan province.
He underscored the necessity of enhancing efforts to prevent and combat terrorism, as stated in his remarks.
Reports indicate that at least four individuals were killed and 32 others sustained injuries due to an explosion in Balochistan on Saturday, according to local media and officials.
The incident occurred in the Turbat district of the province, where a convoy was attacked, and one of the buses within it was targeted during the assault, as per officials who spoke to Xinhua on the condition of anonymity.
The banned Balochistan Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for the attack via social media, although Pakistani authorities have yet to confirm this assertion.
