Sanaa, April 8 (NationPress) The US military executed 22 airstrikes aimed at various Houthi locations throughout northern Yemen on Tuesday, according to reports from the Houthi-operated al-Masirah TV and local residents.

The airstrikes targeted regions to the east and south of the capital, Sanaa, the Island of Kamaran in the Red Sea, as well as areas both north and south of the oil-rich Marib province. No casualties have been reported at this time.

Witnesses described the airstrikes as exceedingly powerful and intense.

This latest series of airstrikes occurred just a day after US airstrikes resulted in the deaths of four children and injuries to 25 others in Sanaa on Sunday night.

On March 15, the United States reinitiated airstrikes against the Houthis to prevent the group from attacking Israeli vessels following the breakdown of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

The Houthis frequently assert that their attacks are in retaliation for US airstrikes in Yemen and aim to pressure the US-supported Israel to halt its offensive in Gaza and permit humanitarian aid into the besieged Palestinian enclave.

This follows Yemen's Houthi group announcing a drone assault on a military target in Tel Aviv, Israel, along with firing cruise missiles at two US warships in the Red Sea.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea stated during a televised announcement broadcast on al-Masirah TV, “We executed an operation against a military target in Tel Aviv using a Jaffa drone.”

He further mentioned, “Our naval and air forces also conducted a joint military operation targeting two US destroyers in the Red Sea with multiple cruise missiles and drones.”

Sarea emphasized that the strikes on US warships were “in response to the ongoing US aggression and crimes against the Yemeni people,” referring to the latest US airstrikes on a residence in Sanaa on Sunday night, which resulted in at least four fatalities and over 20 injuries, including 11 women and children.

He asserted that US strikes would not deter the group from supporting the Palestinian people, pledging that their operations would continue until Israeli “aggression” against the Gaza Strip ceases and the blockade is lifted.
