Sanaa, March 28 (NationPress) The United States military executed over 40 airstrikes targeting Houthi positions in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa early Friday morning, as reported by various media outlets.

The strikes focused on Sanaa International Airport, the Command Camp, the Sarif area, and the Jarban site located in the Sanhan region, along with numerous other locations in the northern provinces, according to reports from Houthi-operated al-Masirah TV.

One individual sustained injuries, the television network reported.

Local residents noted that the airstrikes on the Command Camp in central Sanaa resulted in damage to multiple homes, commercial structures, and shops in the adjacent residential areas.

This assault followed the Houthis' claim of responsibility for two ballistic missile attacks directed at Ben Gurion Airport in central Israel and a military target situated south of Tel Aviv on Thursday afternoon.

These operations represented the most extensive air assault and the highest number of strikes since the initiation of US air operations against the Houthis on March 15. Previous US airstrikes over the last two weeks have resulted in over 50 fatalities and numerous injuries.

Relations between the Houthis and the US military have intensified following Washington's renewed airstrikes against Houthi-held territories in northern Yemen on March 15. These strikes came in response to Houthi threats to recommence attacks on Israeli targets unless humanitarian aid was permitted into Gaza.

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump indicated that operations against the Houthis would persist.

On Thursday, the US military executed several airstrikes on Houthi-controlled Sanaa, as reported by locals.

According to Houthi-run al-Masirah TV, three airstrikes were directed at the Jarban area in the Sanhan district, located in southern Sanaa, while two strikes targeted the al-Jumaymah area in the Bani Hushaysh district, northeast of Sanaa, and an additional two airstrikes hit the al-Daylami air base in northern Sanaa.

All targeted areas are recognized military installations. Residents reported that the airstrikes caused significant explosions.

No immediate casualty reports were available.

The ongoing military exchanges form part of a sustained air campaign initiated by US forces in mid-March against Houthi-governed regions in northern Yemen.

The Houthi faction has pledged to persist in targeting Israeli locations and vessels in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and to retaliate against what they term as American aggression.
