Sanaa, Jan 17 (NationPress) The US military executed five airstrikes on a Houthi military installation in Amran province, located to the north of the capital Sanaa, early Friday morning, according to the Houthi-operated al-Masirah television.

The strikes targeted a post in the Harf Sufyan district of northern Amran, as reported by the television, which did not provide additional details. The Houthi group, which governs a significant portion of northern Yemen, typically does not disclose its casualties or losses.

Local residents reported via social media that they heard multiple loud explosions at dawn emanating from the Houthi military site, where munitions are stored beneath rugged hills.

The US Central Command has not yet responded to inquiries regarding the strikes, as noted by Xinhua news agency.

This Houthi military site, along with various other military locations in northern provinces and the capital Sanaa, has frequently been subjected to US airstrikes since January 2024.

These recent attacks occurred just hours after the Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi pledged in a televised address that his faction would persist in launching long-range rocket assaults on Israel if Israeli forces continued their operations in the Gaza Strip prior to the enforcement of the announced ceasefire.

"Our military actions will proceed in support of the Palestinian people if the Israeli enemy persists in its genocidal acts and escalation before the ceasefire agreement is executed," stated Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi during a broadcast on the Houthi-run al-Masirah satellite channel.

He further emphasized, "We will closely monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement (in Gaza), and should Israel commit any violations or atrocities during any phase of this agreement, we will be poised to provide immediate military support to the Palestinian people," he added.

Al-Houthi remarked, "The United States aims to diminish Hamas's influence in the future, but it will not succeed."

Moreover, the Houthi leader claimed that his group has conducted 1255 attacks on Israeli cities, Israeli-affiliated vessels, and US naval ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since November 2023, almost three weeks following the onset of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
