Sanaa, March 27 (NationPress) The US military executed a series of airstrikes on the Houthi-controlled capital, Sanaa, according to local residents. Reports from the Houthi-operated al-Masirah TV indicate that three airstrikes struck the Jarban area in the Sanhan district, located in southern Sanaa. Additionally, two airstrikes targeted the al-Jumaymah area in the Bani Hushaysh district to the northeast, while another two hit the al-Daylami air base in northern Sanaa.

These locations are recognized military sites, as reported by the Xinhua news agency. Local inhabitants noted that the airstrikes resulted in significant explosions.

No immediate information regarding casualties has been reported. The Houthi group, which governs Sanaa and several northern regions, typically does not disclose its losses.

As of now, the US Central Command has not made any official comments.

This marks the latest in a series of airstrikes launched by US naval forces in the Red Sea against Houthi targets two weeks prior.

Earlier that day, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea announced in a televised address that his group had initiated new rocket and drone assaults on military targets in central Israel, as well as on the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman located in the northern Red Sea.

The ongoing military exchanges are part of a sustained air campaign initiated by US forces in mid-March against areas controlled by the Houthi group in northern Yemen.

The Houthi group has pledged to persist in targeting Israeli sites and vessels in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and to retaliate against what they label as American aggression.
