Sanaa, March 20 (NationPress) A fresh wave of US airstrikes has targeted Yemen's capital, Sanaa, resulting in injuries to at least nine individuals, including seven women and two children.

The airstrikes concentrated on a construction site in Sanaa's Geraf district, damaging nearby residential buildings and injuring civilians who were seeking refuge in an adjacent structure, as reported by the Xinhua news agency, citing Houthi-run al-Masirah TV.

This incident represents the second wave of US air attacks in the region since Saturday, which previously resulted in the deaths of 53 people and injured 98, including women and children, according to health officials controlled by the Houthis.

The airstrikes on Wednesday also extended to additional areas, with al-Masirah reporting attacks on Houthi-controlled territories in governorates such as Saada, al-Bayda, Hodeidah, and al-Jawf.

The Houthis, who govern northern Yemen, announced earlier on Wednesday that they had launched cruise missiles at the USS Harry Truman in the Red Sea, marking their fourth such strike in just 72 hours.

The group asserts that their maritime attacks are aimed solely at vessels linked to Israel to pressure the nation to cease its offensive in Gaza and to permit humanitarian assistance into the Palestinian territory.

The US military, which commenced strikes against Houthi targets on Saturday, states that the objective of this campaign is to safeguard international shipping routes.

US President Donald Trump issued a warning to the Houthis on Saturday, demanding they halt their attacks or face intensified repercussions, declaring, "Hell will rain down upon you like nothing you have ever seen before."

Earlier on Wednesday, Yemen's Houthi faction claimed responsibility for targeting the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier in the Red Sea for the fourth time within 72 hours.

In a statement, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea stated that the operation was executed using cruise missiles and drones, claiming success in thwarting a "hostile US air attack."
