New Delhi, March 27 (NationPress) A group of ambassadors and high-ranking diplomats representing Islamic nations gathered for a 'Sadhbhavana Iftar' hosted by the Indian Minorities Federation (IMF) in New Delhi on Thursday evening. They praised India's rich cultural heritage, its harmony, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dedication to the 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwaas' initiative aimed at inclusivity for all communities.
Over 15 ambassadors, diplomats from Islamic countries, government officials, religious scholars, and community leaders came together to honor the spirit of Ramazan and promote interfaith harmony at the residence of Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu in the capital.
The distinguished guests from various backgrounds applauded India's motto of 'Unity in Diversity' as they discussed cultural richness and the importance of harmony among all communities.
"To begin with, we would like to express our profound gratitude to the respected Indian Minorities Federation for this remarkable event. If this gathering conveys a thought or delivers a message, it is one that resonates with me profoundly: this is India. India embodies multiculturalism and religious diversity. I perceive this initiative as a progressive step towards a Viksit Bharat,”
stated Oday Hatim Mohammed, Deputy Head of the Embassy of Iraq in New Delhi, in a conversation with IANS.
"This is the concept I spoke of — a collection of multi-religious states. India is not merely a state for Hindus, Christians, Muslims, or others, but a multilingual and multi-religious nation that fortifies and enriches India's identity. I am confident that India will reach the 'Viksit Bharat' milestone well ahead of the anticipated date, which I believe is set for 2047. India is undoubtedly capable,”
he added.
The IMF has been organizing such events to foster harmony, brotherhood, and prosperity among the diverse Indian communities periodically.
The 'Sadhbhavana Iftar' reinforced the sense of 'oneness', emphasizing India's commitment to pluralism, interfaith harmony, and strong relations with the Islamic world.
"On behalf of the Bangladeshi High Commission in New Delhi, I extend my gratitude to everyone for including us in this remarkable event. We are immensely proud to partake in the Sadhbhavana Iftar,”
expressed Mohammed Nurul Islam, Bangladesh's Deputy High Commissioner to India.
"I believe this marks a wonderful beginning. It underscores the diversity of India — a convergence of people from different nations coming together to initiate something significant. I am also delighted to be in India, engaging in such events during the holy month of Ramadan. This kind of interaction, where individuals from various nations, religions, and cultures unite under the banner of humanity, is genuinely extraordinary,”
remarked Mohamed Ali Fazari, a diplomat from the Embassy of Sudan in New Delhi.
