Jerusalem, April 22 (NationPress) Israel expressed strong condemnation on Tuesday regarding the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, affirming its commitment to stand united with India in the battle against terrorism.

"We are deeply saddened by the atrocious terror attack targeting tourists in Pahalgam. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families. Israel stands in solidarity with India in the fight against terror," stated Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar on X.

Additionally, Reuven Azar, the Israeli Ambassador to India, took to social media to convey his support following this reprehensible attack on innocent lives.

"We are saddened and appalled by the terrorist attack in J&K that claimed innocent lives. Our condolences are with the victims and their families, and we extend our support to the security forces in their ongoing battle against terror," Azar noted.

Reports indicate that terrorists opened fire indiscriminately at tourists who were enjoying horse-riding in Baisran, a small meadow approximately 4 kilometers from the Pahalgam market, around 2:30 PM on Tuesday.

"One tourist was killed in this attack, and numerous others, including locals and tourists, sustained injuries. The injured have been transported to Pahalgam Hospital, with critically injured individuals being moved to Srinagar for advanced treatment," an official stated, adding that security forces have cordoned off the area to locate the assailants.

Sources suggest that the death toll may increase as several individuals are in critical condition.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently on a State Visit to Saudi Arabia, expressed profound sorrow over the incident and assured that prompt and decisive actions would follow.

"I vehemently condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. My condolences go out to those mourning the loss of their loved ones. I hope for a swift recovery for the injured. All necessary assistance is being provided to the affected," he shared on X.

In a firm warning to the attackers, he remarked, "Those responsible for this heinous act will face justice... they will not escape! Their malevolent agenda will not succeed. Our determination to combat terrorism is unwavering and will only grow stronger."
