Jerusalem, Sep 7 (NationPress) The military of Israel reported on Sunday that it has successfully intercepted three drones originating from Yemen.

As of now, no group has taken responsibility for this attempted incursion.
The Houthi movement, which controls a significant portion of northern Yemen, has been launching missiles and drones aimed at Israel since November 2023, claiming these actions are in solidarity with the Palestinians amidst the ongoing Gaza conflict. Israel has retaliated with airstrikes targeting Houthi-controlled regions, including Sanaa and the strategic port of Hodeidah.
Earlier today, two rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip toward southern Israel, activating warning sirens in Netivot and surrounding areas.
The military reported that of the two projectiles, one was intercepted while the other landed in an uninhabited area, both originating from central Gaza.
This week, Israeli officials indicated that Houthi forces launched a missile targeting Israel for the second time on Tuesday, which activated sirens in various parts of central Israel and the occupied West Bank before being intercepted.
Sirens were triggered in the Jerusalem vicinity and southern West Bank regions.
According to Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service, there have been no reported injuries.
The military confirmed, "Following the sirens that were activated in multiple regions of Israel, a missile launched from Yemen was successfully intercepted by the Israel Air Force." There has been no immediate response from the Houthis.
After Israeli airstrikes in Sanaa resulted in the death of Ahmad Ghaleb al-Rahwi, the prime minister of the Houthi-run government, along with other ministers, Houthi forces have intensified their missile and drone attacks on Israel.
On August 30, senior officials from the Houthi group pledged retaliation against Israel, confirming earlier that day that Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi and several ministers had died in Israeli airstrikes.
The Houthi statement disclosed that the officials were targeted in Sanaa during a workshop assessing government activities over the past year, and that several other ministers sustained injuries and are currently hospitalized. The exact number of fatalities among the ministers was not disclosed.
