Sanaa, Aug 13 (NationPress) The Houthi group from Yemen announced that it has conducted four drone strikes aimed at the Israeli cities of Haifa, Negev, Eilat, and Be'er Sheva.
Utilizing six drones, the operations were reported to have "successfully achieved their objectives," as stated by the group's military spokesperson, Yahya Sarea, during a broadcast on Houthi-operated al-Masirah TV on Tuesday.
Sarea indicated that these strikes were a reaction to Israel's "efforts to eradicate the Palestinian cause through genocide, starvation, and displacement."
He further promised ongoing attacks against Israel until there is an end to the "aggression on the Gaza Strip and the blockade is lifted."
As of now, no immediate response has been issued from Israel concerning the alleged attacks, according to reports from Xinhua.
Since the onset of the Gaza conflict in October 2023, Houthi forces have launched numerous missiles and drones towards Israel, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
Most of these projectiles have either been intercepted or have failed to hit their intended targets. In retaliation, Israel has executed a series of strikes on various ports and other infrastructures within Yemen.
Earlier on Saturday, Yemeni government forces successfully thwarted a significant offensive by the Houthi group in the southern region of Dhalea, resulting in the death of three Houthi militants during the skirmish, as reported by a military official to Xinhua.
The official, who requested anonymity, revealed that the Houthis employed heavy artillery in their attempt to breach government defensive lines in the Bab Ghalaq area of northern Dhalea, leading to intense clashes between the two factions.
The fighting persisted for around an hour before the Houthis retreated in disarray to their positions, while government forces held their ground, according to the official.
