Sanaa, April 12 (NationPress) The Houthi group from Yemen declared in a statement that it has initiated new drone strikes targeting the city of Tel Aviv in central Israel.

According to Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea, ''Our Air Force executed a significant military operation against two Israeli military locations in Tel Aviv, utilizing two drones,'' as reported by the Houthi-operated al-Masirah TV on Friday.

The spokesperson emphasized that these attacks were conducted in solidarity with the Palestinian people, as noted by the Xinhua news agency.

''We reiterate that the ongoing American aggression against our nation will not deter us from fulfilling our responsibilities towards Gaza,'' Sarea further stated.

Israel's Channel 12 News has reported that a Yemeni drone was intercepted near the Dead Sea within Jordanian airspace before it could reach its target in Israel.

Later on Friday, the Jordanian army confirmed that an unidentified drone entered its airspace and crashed in the Ma'in area of Madaba governorate, adjacent to the Dead Sea, with no casualties reported.

Since Israel intensified its strikes in March throughout the Gaza Strip, the Houthis have consistently targeted Israeli and American interests.

Earlier on the same day, the Houthi military spokesperson claimed new assaults against the US aircraft carrier, USS Harry S. Truman, and other US naval vessels in the northern Red Sea.

Meanwhile, the US Central Command stated in a social media post that the strike group of the aircraft carrier ''maintains continuous operations against the Houthis, despite their preposterous claims.''

According to Houthi media, the total number of US airstrikes on northern Yemen since early Friday morning has reached 30.

These airstrikes targeted various locations in eastern and southern Sanaa, as well as the oil-rich province of Marib and the western province of Hodeidah.

Residents of Sanaa reported hearing loud noises from fighter jets flying overhead before and after the strikes on Mount Nuqum and Bani Hashish districts, located on the eastern outskirts of Sanaa. The airstrikes also impacted areas in the Sanhan district, situated on the southern fringes of the capital.

There are no warning systems in Yemen to alert residents about potential air attacks.

''All we hear is the sound of a speeding missile less than a second before it strikes and explodes, followed by the roar of fighter jets at full throttle,'' reported a Sanaa resident named Mohamed to Xinhua.

On March 15, the US military resumed airstrikes targeting Houthi positions to deter the group from launching attacks against Israel and US warships in the Red Sea.

The Houthis, who govern northern Yemen, stated that they would cease attacks if Israel halts its military operations in Gaza and permits the entry of essential food and medicine into the region.
