Beirut, Feb 26 (NationPress) A drone strike carried out by Israeli forces resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left two others injured in the Shaara region of Janta, situated close to Lebanon's eastern mountain range.

A ceasefire agreement has been active between Israel and Lebanon since November 27, 2024, effectively ending nearly 14 months of conflict that arose from the Gaza war.

This agreement mandated Israel's military withdrawal from Lebanese land, yet Israel continues to hold positions at five locations along the border, despite a deadline of February 18.

Previously, the Israeli military announced a fresh series of airstrikes in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah sites, contravening the ceasefire.

In an official statement, the military indicated it struck infrastructure containing weaponry where Hezbollah activity was detected.

It accused Hezbollah of executing military operations in southern Lebanon, breaching the agreements between Israel and Lebanon, as reported by Xinhua.

According to NNA, the Israeli enemy conducted two drone strikes on Wadi Zibqin in the western region of southern Lebanon.

The agency further reported that Israeli forces released flares over the Al-Dar area, located in the central sector of the southern border region.
