Moscow, Aug 20 (NationPress) External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is set to co-chair the 26th Session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC-TEC) in Moscow on Wednesday. This important session aims to further enhance bilateral relations and is a significant part of his ongoing three-day official visit to Russia from August 19 to 21.

During this visit, the External Affairs Minister is also expected to address the India-Russia Business Forum, where both nations will look for opportunities to strengthen trade and investment partnerships.

Jaishankar’s trip follows an invitation from Denis Manturov, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has emphasized the strategic importance of this visit. “Dr. S. Jaishankar will conduct an official visit to Russia from 19-21 August 2025 to co-chair the 26th Session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC-TEC) slated for 20 August 2025,” stated the MEA.

“This visit aims to further solidify the enduring and time-honored India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership,” the statement added.

The two officials last met during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Foreign Ministers' meeting on July 15 and at the recent BRICS Summit.

Earlier this year, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri visited Moscow for Foreign Office Consultations with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, reflecting the ongoing diplomatic engagement between New Delhi and Moscow.
