Jeminay Port in Xinjiang Sees Record Surge in Cross-Border Passenger Travel

Urumqi, Dec 1 (NationPress) The Jeminay Port located in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of northwest China has achieved a remarkable milestone this year, recording 100,000 cross-border passenger trips, marking a 10-year high, as reported by local authorities.
As of Friday, the port has experienced an impressive 250 percent increase in both border entries and exits this year, reaching a single-day record of over 700, according to the local border inspection agency, Xinhua.
This port serves as a crucial border crossing between China and Kazakhstan, offering streamlined customs clearance processes. It has become a favored route for cross-border travelers, particularly with the progress of the Belt and Road Initiative and the expansion of China's visa-free entry options.
The Jeminay Port is dedicated to providing high-quality and efficient customs clearance services for travelers. "We are committed to continuously optimizing and overcoming challenges in customs clearance to enhance our high-level opening-up," stated Yao Lin, a division head at the border inspection station.
