Tirupati, Oct 19 (NationPress) Ahead of her Telangana Jagruthi Padayatra, former BRS MLC K. Kavitha visited the Tirumala temple on Sunday to offer her prayers.
Joined by her husband, D. Anil Kumar, she sought divine blessings for her extensive outreach that is set to commence on October 25.
This four-month-long padayatra aims to engage with the public and bolster the Telangana Jagruthi movement, covering all 33 districts of Telangana.
After her 'darshan', Kavitha expressed her joy at visiting Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy of Tirumala, stating, “I have resolved to launch the Telangana Jagruti Janam Bata programme starting from the 25th of this month. I came here to seek blessings for that initiative,” she shared with the media.
Kavitha emphasized her prayer for the welfare and prosperity of the citizens of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
This padayatra marks her first significant public engagement after resigning from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) due to her suspension linked to anti-party activities last month.
As the daughter of BRS leader and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), Kavitha continues her discussions with Telangana Jagruthi leaders to finalize her political strategy.
While unveiling the poster for her padayatra, she asserted that this tour would help her gauge the potential for establishing a political party and determine the role of Telangana Jagruthi.
Kavitha reiterated that achieving “Samajika Telangana” (social justice in Telangana) is not simply a slogan; it is her guiding policy. The padayatra is expected to spotlight regional concerns, women’s empowerment, and grassroots governance.
Notably, Kavitha chose not to include images of KCR on her poster due to her recent suspension, deeming it inappropriate to feature another party president’s photo. She has alleged that her suspension is tied to her comments on Samajika Telangana.
In May, she remarked that while a separate geographical state of Telangana was established, Samajika Telangana had yet to be realized for its people.
Kavitha's padayatra will kick off from Nizamabad on October 25, a location significant to her as her in-laws hail from there, and she previously represented Nizamabad in the Lok Sabha from 2014-2019.
