Hyderabad, Dec 15 (NationPress) K. Kavitha, the President of Telangana Jagruthi, announced on Monday her intention to participate in the 2029 Parliamentary elections. As the daughter of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and former Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), she confirmed her candidacy in response to a query from a netizen during a discussion on X.
"Absolutely!" she affirmed when questioned about her plans for the 2029 elections.
Kavitha also mentioned that she is preparing to initiate a membership drive for Telangana Jagruthi, with specific dates to be revealed following her ongoing 'Jagruthi Janam Baata' tour.
The founder of Telangana Jagruthi is currently engaged in a four-month padyatra, marking her first public outreach after departing from the BRS.
After resigning from the BRS due to her suspension for anti-party actions in September, Kavitha stepped down as a member of the Telangana Legislative Council.
Last month, she expressed her commitment to addressing citizens' issues and indicated that she would return to active politics at a later time.
When asked about the name of her new party, she humorously responded, "What should it be?" and expressed confidence in her ability to thrive despite the presence of numerous political parties in Telangana.
“We are working across the state and will be forming committees in every village of Telangana... slowly but strongly,” she said when questioned about the current focus of Jagruthi activities, which have been limited to Hyderabad.
Kavitha emphasized her vision for a well-developed Telangana or Samajika Telangana, highlighting her desire to provide opportunities for the youth and women in their chosen sectors.
“Indeed! We must be inclusive and empower every societal segment, which is evident in our Jagruthi committees,” she affirmed when discussing her plans to create political opportunities for the SC, ST, and MBC communities.
Regarding her perspective on the Revanth Reddy government, she remarked: "Broken promises. Failed commitments. The public is deeply disappointed with the government."
“If I were to become the Chief Minister of Telangana, I would aim to make education entirely free, ensuring no parent in Telangana spends money on education. This is the only path to empower the future of both Telangana and India,” she stated.
Kavitha described the ongoing issue of farmer suicides in Telangana as regrettable, recounting a visit to a cotton farmer's family in Adilabad, who succumbed to the pressures of debt and crop loss. She noted that these tragedies reflect the government's neglect and indifference.
She plans to meet with farmers affected by land acquisition for what is now named Future City.
In response to another inquiry, the former MLC criticized the current government's neglect of Singareni, asserting that Jagruthi will continue its fight alongside the HMS.
