Is Kavitha Set to Launch a New Political Party?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, Feb 6 (NationPress) K. Kavitha, the President of Telangana Jagruthi, revealed on Friday that she plans to unveil a new political party within the next three months.
Speaking to the media, she mentioned that she is awaiting a suitable 'mahuratam' (auspicious moment) to officially launch her political venture.
Kavitha, who is the daughter of K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), the President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the former Chief Minister, resigned from the BRS last year following her suspension due to allegations of anti-party activities.
Furthermore, the former MP announced that Telangana Jagruti will hold a gathering in Hyderabad on February 12 to honor those who sacrificed their lives for Telangana.
In her criticism of the BRS, she stated that the party is not genuinely addressing the reservation concerns for Backward Classes.
Kavitha condemned the BRS for selecting B. Madhav Reddy as a candidate in the municipal elections, highlighting that he had previously filed a petition against the 42 percent reservation for Backward Classes.
She expressed disappointment that when BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) urged voters to support his party without considering the candidates, she did not anticipate that such a candidate would be fielded.
Madhav Reddy, who was formerly associated with Telangana Jagruthi, later established Reddy Jagruthi and claims to advocate for the interests of the Reddy community.
Meanwhile, Kavitha mentioned that in Sircilla, 16 BRS leaders have approached her Telangana Jagruthi for tickets to contest municipal elections.
Sircilla is the Assembly constituency represented by her brother, KTR, who is also the BRS Working President.
Additionally, Kavitha pointed out that KTR and T. Harish Rao are campaigning only in areas where Telangana Jagruthi has nominated its candidates.
Targeting Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, she accused him of using abusive language against KCR, asserting that the Chief Minister resorts to insults as he cannot politically confront KCR.
She remarked that KCR's name cannot be erased from the history of Telangana.
Kavitha reiterated that the ongoing investigation into the alleged phone-tapping case resembles a television serial and called for the government to clarify when this serial will conclude.
She criticized Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar for dismissing petitions aimed at disqualifying eight BRS MLAs who shifted allegiances to Congress. 'The Speaker claims these MLAs remain in the BRS. If that is true, how can Congress appoint one of these MLAs, Arekapudi Gandhi, as the party in charge for municipal elections in Nizamabad district?' she questioned.
